On March 14-15, 2025, Poltava became the center of Olympic taekwondo, hosting the largest competitions in this sport in recent years.

The Poltava Region Open Championship gathered an impressive number of participants - 400 athletes from 18 teams representing Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv and Poltava regions. This was announced by the Honorary President of the WTF Taekwondo Federation Oleksandr Berezyansky.

The competition became an important stage in the preparation of many athletes for the national Championship of Ukraine, giving them the opportunity to test their skills in a competitive environment.
